This is the real deal. been using for a couple weeks now. So this is not a fake littmann. I used an HP for years which has great acoustics and very loud. This one is nearly as loud. You do have to put some pressure on the chest to get the higher pitched tones from the diaphragm. A little different from my HP in that respect. Construction is solid though. The weakest part is probably the spring between the ear pieces, so hopefully if I am careful I don't wear it out too soon. I would get the same again. No need to spend more for more expensive models.

The Classic II S.E. is probably the golden standard in the healthcare industry nowadays, rivaled only by Littmann's own Cardiology III. Great acoustics, soft earpieces, a non-chill rim, and a durable tubing makes it well worth the price tag. I prefer the traditional bell/diaphragm as opposed to the newer "switch by applying less/more pressure" thing featured on the other Littmann scopes. If this thing ever dies (which I highly doubt), I'd go Littmann time and time again.

I'm always impressed with 3M's products as I live in the Midwest near where these products are made. I like to support the US economy so it only makes sense that I'd buy a quality American made product like this. It's not something that you buy at a chain store and it's cheaply made or doesn't work as it should, this is how it should be built. In fact, I bet you that your doctors and nurses use this exact model as it's the standard in the medical field. I sure noticed how many carry this exact model in various colors once I ordered one. It's well worth the price and I'd buy again.

Product is solid and I've had no issues so far. The higher quality stethescopes might be more useful for constant use but as a nurse this one works great.

THIS IS NOT A LITTMAN 2010-06-10

Do not be fooled by either description, photo, or reviews. This is definitely NOT a Littman. We own a Littman and wanted to purchase a couple more to give as gifts to medical students. The product is completely different from the Littman, and is a very bad knock off. If you've never had the original, there would be no way of knowing. Especially because it carries the same model "name" as the Littman does. Notice that the seller conveniently leaves out the word Littman in his description, but allows unknowing reviewers to speak about the Littman.

This is a big ripoff, and I don't understand how the reviews speak about the "Littman". Do not fall for this trick and do not buy this product if you are looking for a Littman.

Unless the seller has changed its product in the last few months, I purchased two, and I am returning them, as they are not what they are supposed to be.
